High Efficiency Converters Based on Modular Partial Power Processing for Fully Electric Maritime Applications

This paper proposes an approach for analyzing the benefits that partial-power-processing-based converters can bring to fully electric maritime applications. With aim of making system modular and scalable different powers/energies, series-connected partial power are proposed. Serializing these entails significant overvoltage issues, this tackles them one module failure case. A reliability analysis has been carried out considering components battery follow independent identical distribution in terms probability. Furthermore, a redundancy factor added allow certain rate what is known as fault-tolerant system. Finally, demonstrate high efficiency converters, 3 kW prototype tested at working points model charging process battery. The experimental results show peak 99.36%.
